Vaping/Tobacco Policy

PHHS Vaping/Tobacco Policy:

Vaping/Tobacco

Students are not permitted to have on their person or to use any tobacco products or items which may produce fire (such as a lighter) at school during the school day or at any school sponsored activity regardless of when it is.  Teachers are to be alert to tobacco use and may question students when reasonable suspicion exists.  Teachers may also be alerted to students who are obvious abusers of the school tobacco rules.

Students should also not possess, use, distribute, purchase, or sell tobacco or nicotine-containing products of any kind or in any form.  These products include e-cigarettes, any type of look a-like product (ex. JUUL, VAPE), or other paraphernalia used in association with tobacco or nicotine use.  Tobacco includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, snuff, smoking tobacco, smokeless tobacco, nicotine, nicotine delivering devices (e-cigarettes), chemicals or devices that produce the same flavor or physical effect of nicotine substances; and any other tobacco or nicotine innovations.

A student or students may be reasonably assumed to be guilty of abusing school rules when observed in an area where smoke, tobacco juice or other indications of tobacco use are present.
