FFA Regional Livestock Skillathon!

Our high school FFA members competed Wednesday in the Regional Livestock Skillathon Contest at the Boone County Fairgrounds!

Students put their knowledge and skills to the test as they competed in areas related to livestock identification, evaluation, management, and industry knowledge. We are proud of the time, preparation, and dedication they put into representing our FFA program!

Meet our Veterinary Science Vocational Class!

Second year Veterinary Science students have been working on collecting, running, and reading diagnostic samples. They successfully performed an urinalysis and an ear cytology on each of our very patient "Pet Professors." Knowing the process and importance of running these samples correctly helps prepare them for what they will soon see at their internship placements this year!

Physics Students Began the School Year with Olympic-Themed Measurement Activity

Students in Mrs. Jeffers’s third- and fifth-period physics classes participated in a series of Olympic-themed measurement events designed to provide a hands-on introduction to measurement and dimensional analysis. Events included the paper plate discus, cotton ball shot put, left-handed sponge squeeze, and several other engaging challenges.
Throughout the activity, students estimated the measurements for each event and then compared their estimates with the actual measurements. Following the completion of all events, students used dimensional analysis to convert their measurements between different units, reinforcing important concepts and skills used in physics.
Students who demonstrated the greatest accuracy in estimating the actual measurements for each event were recognized with gold medals during a class-period awards ceremony. The activity provided an engaging opportunity for students to apply mathematical and scientific concepts in a collaborative and enjoyable setting while beginning the new school year.

🥁 🎵 ISU Sycamore Marching Band Day🎵 🥁


The ISU Marching Sycamores invites surrounding high school band programs to rehearse and perform with a collegiate marching band for a college football game. Parke Heritage High school students learned and performed stand tunes like Land of 1,000 Dances, Jungle Boogie, 25 or 6 to 4, and Hey Baby. They also learned an arrangement of Dua Lipa's "Levitating" and performed with the Marching Sycamores during halftime.

Meet our Automotive Technology Vocational Classroom.

Automotive Technology is a class for students with any level of knowledge
related to the topic. We start at square one from the very basics of tool
identification and work our way up to internal engine components and how
all the systems of the vehicles we drive work. Students are exposed to a
life-like work environment where they will perform common maintenance
and repairs to shop vehicles. Once they have established their basic skills
they move on to diagnosing and repairing vehicles for customers such as
students, teachers, and the occasional community member.
